The president of Ivanka’s fashion brand Abigail Klem in an interview with Refinery 92 told that “Since, the beginning of February, they were some of the best performing weeks in the history of brand”. He also claimed that “For quite a few online retailers Ivanka Trump was the top online performer and in some categories, it was the brand’s best performance ever”.
The news about the record sales came just after the
Nordstrom announcement in early February that they are no longer supporting Ivanka’s brand and will no longer keep the 35-year-old’s clothing and accessories. Additionally, this move provoked President Trump to tweet about the biased act of ditching her daughter unethically from the luxury department store giant.
Despite of reactions, Neiman Marcus also pulled some of the Ivanka’s clothing and accessories from their website and retail locations last month.
The White House Advisor Kellyane Convay insisted viewers to “go buy Ivanka’s stuff” during an interview held in February on Fox & Friends. The Office of Government ethics recommended a disciplinary action against it.
The e-commerce aggregator LYST indicates that from January to February, Ivanka Trump sales improved 346 percent, Refinery29 writes.
In January, Ivanka Trump announced that she would have a formal leave of absence from Trump organization and her clothes and accessories. Moreover, she said that she would no longer be involved with the operations and management of the company.
The registered democrat Klem said that “She tried to limit the blather between company and herself and for the company’s namesake. “I really admire Ivanka. We are business companions. We are very close in a way but I want to continue this with actualhonesty. So, I feel like, while we are not forbidden from speaking personally, I think it’s easier if talk as less as possible”.
As per the Klem profile, Ethics counselors suggested that the company stop using images of Ivanka Trump in “new promotional, advertising or marketing materials”. The suggestion doesn’t influence existing marketing materials, such as the company’s website.
Klem said, we are making efforts to having the brand be separate even from Ivanka and surely her dad is more detached from that. We are doing everything to form an identity for this brand and it’s a complicated matter.
